The conversion from RAW to jpg can not be redone, as it can with the raw conversion programs discussed below.ģ) Transfer the RAW file to computer for processing: Once the jpg file is produced in the camera, changing any in camera settings will only affect new pictures taken. The camera has its own RAW data conversion program, just not as versatile as the programs discussed in the next paragraph, below. This file may contain the camera settings (ie: White Balance, Sharpening, Color Mode, Saturation, etc.) but these parameter settings have not been applied to the raw data file. If the Camera if set to RAW, then a raw data file is produced and stored in the camera on the memory card. This RAW data from the CCD is not yet stored. Picasa would be very pleased at your comments!ĬNX normally uses the same default parameter settings that the in camera RAW conversion program uses, and this is why the initial view looks the same, between these two files. It seems that you think these default settings in Picasa produce an RGB image that is better looking than the out of camera jpeg (RGB) or initial settings that CNX is using for display of the RAW file. Unprocessed RAW files can not be viewed they are not in a format that our monitors require. ![]() But to view a RAW file on the screen it must be converted to an RBG file, The Picasa program has default RAW conversion parameters built in to it, to enable it to show this initial view. Picasa does support RAW files in various formats (see the link below).
